In my freshman year, I recall using our old, outdated family computer to design something for my club application. The machine has been with us through lots of updates and repairs over the years. Despite its frequent glitches and reloads, I persevered until I had a template I was proud of.

But my excitement turned to frustration when I checked the design on my phone. Instead of the soft, inviting pink I had chosen, the background looked like a washed-out yellow. I couldn’t believe it and rushed back to the computer to double-check, only to find that, it was the screen playing tricks on me. Its screen’s color depiction was way off that it showed colors differently than they were.

In the end, I had to pick the color again and only sent it after confirming the correct color. That experience showed me just how tricky technology can be, especially when it’s a bit past its prime.
